Nice picture, Doc!! I love goldfinches and get lots of them at my feeder in the winter. Here is a picture I took a couple years ago.

That's a bunch of goldfinches for sure I just see an occasional one now and then. Dr.C

nice shots. I stalked the feeder this morning but didn't really get much of anything useful. I ain't got no gold birds either. Mine are all red and blue. I do have a beautiful red headed woodpecker hanging out around my elm but that guy is a bit skittish.

My second-favorite bird after the California quail. I like how unafraid of people they are--I've had them zoom past me like I wasn't even there! And they sing very pretty--guess that's why they are often called "wild canaries."

Anybody know if they are related to tame canaries? Look like it.....
