Interesting thing about their internet service at least on this river boat cruise.... on about day two they started blocking the Sig forum (I don't motioning it really violates the rules here) but so far they have not blocked the Ruger forum..... when I try to log on to the Sig Forum I get a blocked notice because it discusses 'weapons'. I sent the administrator a reply telling them what I think of that but really don't expect anything out of it.

As long as I can get a signal with my Verizon phone then I can log on to where ever I choose with that.

We have never done a river cruise, only ocean,so due to the price they charge for wifi and phone service,we do not ever use it.
But I guess on a river cruise you could pick up on the local towers?

Well, so much for that pesky first amendment. I know, I know, it's a private enterprise and they can set their own rules. But what if they started to block say the Democratic party website? Or better yet FaceBook.

At school we teach the kids for internet safety to never use public WiFi. I certainly don’t. I know this isn’t the topic of the thread, it still I think everyone should think twice before logging into a public WiFi. Especially at a restaurant. Anyone who wants can buy the software to sniff your passwords...

Sorry about the cruise ship WiFi Blume. What river are you on? I think a river cruise would be more interesting than a sea cruise.

Wife and I have been coming down the upper Mississippi from St. Paul to St. Louis for the last week. This 'ship' has 150 passengers.... the biggest ship of the American Cruise Lines holds 185. We have never done a cruise before and refused to do one of the big monster thousands of passenger things....

This has been a great experience and I've enjoyed myself immensely. But be warned, these river boat cruises are expensive.

Oh, by the way: I was able to sign back onto the Sig forum the day after I sent a request to change their rating or listing or what ever.... now in hind sight what I should have done is tried to sign on from a different computer and see if it was still blocked there... one time when I tried later to sign on (slow connection) I noticed that the server sent me to the block web sight page first... and so I'm thinking they were letting me go there but no one else.
