I can't find any 2400 so I've been thinking about trying something else.
What powder is equal in comparison to 2400?
Loading 357,44,45colt.

IT TRULY HAS NO EQUAL PER SE'. There are other propellents that do okay in those cartridges but it is Unexcelled in the three-five-seven Mag for sure. I would go faster, like to UNIQUE or UNIVERSAL, but you probably cannot find those either. There are also some fine loads for those cartridges with 231/HP38.
It was a gala day for me personally when I bought a 50lb keg of commercial 231 a while back.
Good luck on your search, SweetBilly.

I'm not going to claim that they are exactly "equal", but for .357 and .44 mag, I work with both A2400 and Accurate #9. The charge weights are pretty close to the same, performance is comparable. I've found the AA#9 loads to be a bit more consistent across the chrony.

I found some Unique yesterday & plan on using it for some 240's & 250's in 44mag & 45colt. And some 158 357mag.
But my plan for the 2400 is to use for 300gr. to 330gr. Cast 44's & 45's(non gc bullets) and I have some 180gr. Cast 357's I think would be a good match with 2400.

If you can't find anything similar, some of the guys over on the Cast Boolit forum are using Alliant 410 and say it's similar to 2400 and it's probably more available since it's not a "handgun" powder. When the current powder grab began, I picked up a pound of AL Pro Reach which is quite common. I found it to be similar to Herco although I've yet to do a grain-for-grain comparison. I've used quite a lot of it in my NM Vaquero 45 Colt. Another I've been using in the 45 is AA#7. With it I'm running 285-ish gr. cast SWC's over 1000 fps.

If you have Unique you should be well off. It may not be slow enough for max velocity, but plenty versatile to work within a wide range. I'm usually in the mid to lower power levels anyway.

Hodgdon Longshot has a burn rate close to Bluedot and works well in your cartridges if you're not looking
for absolute top velocity.

I`ve turned to Alliants 20/28 & not lookin back clean burnin, low flash , meters like water !

1 problem , absolutely NO data ! But I have`nt gotten into trouble useing Uniques data reduced 5%.

H-110 is more flexable than most think it is ,it just gets very sooty/dirty with lesser pressures, but is best at the upper levels.

Whittaker's here in western KY seems to have a butt load of powder except for Alliant brands. Either its selling out between my visits or they haven't had any in a year or so.
