Aircraft ID

During the storms of late, there have been videos shot through thewindow of a storm chaser/weather recon aircraft. It is a four engined turboprop aircraft. The No. 1 engine is partially seen in the videoeo and the exhaust is above the wing. So its not a C-130. What is it? I'm guessing its a P-3 Orion or some version of it. And the crew seem t be wearing Navy fligh suits.

Anybody here know what it is?

The title of this thread reminded me of almost 50 years ago in the college I attended for the first year where it was 24 hours a day ROTC... (The Citadel) and in the Navy class we watched slides of different aircraft silhouettes... .. to learn to identify them... about every 5th to 10th slide was of a young woman with very little or no clothes on... could not get away with that a year or so after I was there.

My favorite has been the WC-130J. It originated from the C-130B built in 1959 and is capable of staying aloft almost 18 hours at an optimum cruise speed of more than 300 mph. The props were modernized to six blades
My last operation in the Navy was in a C-130H.

When I was very young I was a little boy and sky watcher. We were given a think black cardboard sheet with die cut outlines of airplanes. We were to punch out the pieces and assemble them into airplane silhouettes. Most ere Japanese planes I think. They could not be considdeed models in any way. But projected on a sheet from behind gave the appearnace of an aircraft in flight.

Son was the CO of VRC-40 when his C-2 Greyhounds had 8 blade props installed.

The C-2 has the same engines as the P-3 just not as many. The P-3 is based on the Lockheed L-188 Electra flown by Eastern Airlines and many others

I know it is not much to go on though.

Well its a biplane. But the instrumentation might make it later than one might think unless it has a newer cluster but not new enough to be something like a Pitts. Period clothing suggest WWI vintage. Soppwith or maybe a Spad.

It is probably a DeHavilland Tiger Moth which was the trainer the Britts used at the time of WWII

Notice the doors are open in the above and this picture. Pretty much a giveaway for a Tiger Moth also the fuel valve/ line is in the same location

I don't think it is a Tiger Moth. Look at the attachment just to the right and behind the person in the photo. There is no 'like' mount on the above photo.

Looks like the front mount for the rear windshield to me.

Look at the second Tiger Moth and the rear windscreen mount is different

OK FM,
The cabane struts, fuel valve, fuel lines, doors, cockpit coaming, control cables going up the right rear cabane struct, front windshield and the turtle deck are the same along with the landing wires attach to the rear cabane strut and wing attach, and it is England. It must be a Moth. Windshield attach fittings do get changed and modified over a 80-85 year period
