Are revolvers as addicting as Semi Auto's? I currently have an SR40C and earlier this week picked up an LC9. And now looking at a couple of other semi auto calibers I "need". I am still planning on picking up an SP101 in .357.

So I guess the question is once I do pick up the SP101 am I going to find myself "Needing" several other revolvers?

Just curious

matt

Dont do it! You buy a SP101 and you will be hooked and find yourself looking for extra cash for more revolvers. Next it will be a Smith J-frame and then multiple single action Rugers and then a GP100.

Man, now I am going to have to get a third job. How much can I get ofr a kidney on ebay?

Matt
You don't have to spend a lot of money if you can be satisfied just to eat, sleep, drink, shoot, and talk revolvers all day and night. Checking in here once a day is a good start. :D :D

The good news is that once you get hooked on revolvers you probably won't be thinking about semi-autos anymore. Wheelguns are pretty darn addictive. Possibly because there's so many configurations to choose from. With autos it's not quite that way. An LC9 is an LC9. They're all the same. But a Blackhawk can be had in three different calibers, two different finishes, five or six different barrel lengths, and any combination of all those things. Then you have Single Sixes, and Vaqueros, and GP100s, and SP101s.......There's just so many options that you can't simply stop after one or two. Or three or four or five or ten...... 8)

Best wishes. Maybe I'll see you in revolver rehab someday.

My first revolver will be the Sp101 in .357. Although everytime i to the my LGS to use their range I do go by and admire the SRH .44Mag. But I think that might be a bit much to start off with. Might spoil me against any of the smailler guns.

Get outta semis and find the revolver sickness... Ive got a sig 239 i have thought about getting rid of to get a new revolver but i just cant let it go... So i just buy other guns with money i barely have

Wait till you buy your first Blackhawk/Single-Six, the most addicting of them all! ...................................

Wheel guns, I caught the sickness and am looking for more now. They're more fun than a barrel of monkeys to shoot.
And it's a lot easier to pick up the used brass for reloading.

Yes that is the only local range I have used so far. Short range though only 11 yards. I bought my SR40C there so I got 10 free range trips from them. Too bad that "free" doesn't include ammo.

I am waiting for the Camp Elmore Marine Corps Range to open back up. It is 25 yards. I bought my LC9 at the Marine Corps Exchange. Only get a 30 day pass from them though.

I purchased a P90 in 1999. Still my only pistol. this year I bought an SBH .41, THEN a single 6, SP101 2 in.(for the daughter still at home) ,SP101 3in., and then a J frame airlight for the wife. Now I find I really NEED a 44 flat top.

nd the Marine Corps Exchange

Camp Elmore is on Terminal Blvd. It sits in the back behind the Marine Corps Exchange. You can get to the Marine Corps range without actually going through the gate.

Norfolk VA, I think it may be renamed now?

Yes you do need a .44Spec flattop :D . If I miss with it, it isn't the revolver..... Joy to shoot and handle. The medium frame is just right for this caliber. No man (or woman) should be without at least one of these.... I now have 4. Two .44spec and two .45 Colt/.45 ACP revolvers... Plus a Sheriff .44Spec to go along with. Addiction? Naw.... just common sense ;) .

Blackhawks are very addicting!! Dr. Phil cannot help you...just go with it...(I'm not helping!)

Wow...someone knows my story! I've owned the 1976 security six since 1990, only gun until last year bought the SR9c...now got the bug and plan to order the SP101 .327 magnum this weekend, then after I get accepted at the local club, the SP101 .22LR, also have a crimson trace coming for the 101's. 8)

Well I sold an old ATV i had today, still ran great but kind of beat down looking. A buddies uncle wanted it to use at his hunt club. I didn't get a firtune for it but it should be enough to get me a SP101 in a couple of weeks at the Virgina Beach gun show at the end of the month. So we shall see how this addiction I am having goes.

Yes on Revolver addiction vs Semi Auto affliction

You need to interview your PROSPECTIVE Dr.'s more carefully. One simple question does it. Tell him your having trouble holding your Colt45. If he suggests trying a different grip or a PAST Glove, asks what stance you use etc. he is safe. ANY OTHER RESPONSE I recommend you RUN from his office.
