AC556 with Hohrein .22 conversion

Hello everyone.

I just picked up my AC556 and it runs great with .223/5.56 ammo.

I ordered and received a Hohrein/Ciener conversion kit with a mag a few months ago and have it installed properly.

The problem is that it will cycle and eject in semi auto mode, but will not reset the hammer. I realize that HV ammo must be used and have tried Winchester 333 and Remington bulk and Aguila super max velocity. No difference between the 3. I am thinking that the recoil spring is maybe too heavy and keep the bolt from traveling far enough to reset the hammer?

Any suggestions?

My 22 conversion kit only worked with federal ammo reliably. But even then it wasn't always perfect.

I also found out that you need to keep it lightly oiled while using the kit.
