I picked up a nice 10/22 (95%) with a Weaver 4X scope today at the local gun show. The price was fair for a 116 prefix number and it was made in 1977. Heads Up Everyone !!!!The amount of mis-matched 10/22's now showing up at guns shows make one have to be extra careful when buying one. The ones with the Switched out rececivers, barrels and stocks to mislead buyers are now showing up in greater numbers. Yes I have been mislead by a seller when buying a 10/22, but this incident has made me a more aware buyer and given me the need to share this information with all Ruger Forum members .

I guess from a purest standpoint that would be an issue, the mixed up parts....

but since all my 10/22s have mixed parts, I really don't see a problem with this. Seems to me there is a big difference between 'mis-matched' and mixed.

I agree with you gt about the home gunsmithed missmatched 10/22's out there. I like unaltered guns and if I need one that is not I can do that in the shop not on the kitchen table. Thanks for the heads-up.
