A Few Grips I've Made for Mine

I'm a furniture builder and cabinet maker, but recently tried my hand at making some 1911 grips. Fun work!

Actually Pat, I've made and sold several 1911 pistol stands, grip sets, and handgun racks for customers. I usually just make up several peices and then post them on various forums (providing, of course, the admin of the sites will allow me to).

...very nice grips...put me down for a set...I really like the darker wood grains the best on a stock sr1911...the lighter grains look fantastic on a sr1911 custom that has been coated black...I'll be expecting mine my the holidays...what a great stocking stuffer...you should have plenty of time to make some grips...now that the fall/winter season is around the corner...after all, what else is there to do in WI in the winter...watch the Packers & make some grips...thanks for posting the pictures...

Thanks Peter. With domestic woods like walnut and maple, I usually get $55 per set shipped to your door. Exotic woods are more based on the cost of material.

I 'do' have the resources to laser engrave initials on the grips. I don't have a list per se of grips and prices as I usually make just one set at a time. But unless they are made of some expensive exotic species of wood, I usually get $55 per set shipped. Engraving would likely add roughly $15-$20. Exotic woods might run around $85 depending on species and availability. I just picked up some stabilized Box Elder burl that I think will make outstanding grips. Fair amount of red in it.

I can also make them with or without the MSH cut-out, and I've made many sets for magwells too.
