My .480 Bisley is now complete.

Yesterday I installed a Sixshot blade (the high 0.390” version) and Bowen target rear.

Centering the blade for drilling in our Bridgeport:

It got scuffed a bit while fitting so I polished it to bare metal and blued it:

My load will be 12.0 of HS6 using our 445 gr Martin LFN. I’m guessing it’ll go around 950 fps.

We’ll soon see what it can do at 100 yards.

I like your load. 445 WFN Is that something that can be bought somewhere already cast? Nice looking bullet.

I'm casting them myself. I designed the bullet through Mountain Molds online program and they cut the block. Here's the spec sheet:

HA! For once,,, somebody is copying me,,, not the other way around. I too have the sixshot front sight,,, (but I'm having to increase it to the .390) and I have a Bowen on mine. But I'm loading the Miha bullets. Ok, before you copy me anymore Lee, I am adding custom grips to mine as well!

Seriously,,, looking good Lee!

I'm thinking this Lee guy just hates to have to shoot anything twice ! I've got the .370 installed on mine, we'll see. 445gr bullets, OUCH !

At the velocity he estimates, it should be very manageable, and also plenty powerful. Great looking revolver and bullet!

Cheering from the bleachers:

HS-6 powder in a moderate load .......... !

I also have the Mia mold in plain base with the associated pins ....... I like that Martin mold ......... good stuff.

Three 44s

I'm watching the mailbox for a Lee 400gr Mold myself, have 60+ lbs of lead scrounged up. Lee, you said you re-blued the front sight, how might I flat black mine ?

Steve - mine is blued but matte tone. After polishing the blade I lightly bead blasted it. The result is a dark black, low-glare finish.

What is the height of the Ruger front sight? Where are you measuring from to get the.390 height of the sixshot sight? Are the 480's tending to shoot high with the factory sight? Who has been shooting 400 gr bullets and does this weight require a taller sight?
