I know it's a Redhawk, but I've read a review or two where the writer said he would not use heavy loads in the revolver. I somehow believe that the "Ruger only" loads will be safe. I have several hundred heavy loads that I shot from my Blackhawk sitting in the loading room. What say ye that have one? I'm planning on selling my No.1 in 30/06 A.I. to buy one. I don't hunt anymore since my heart attack and cancer surgery, and if I were to be asked I'd use a handgun.

I have been looking at those too. Hoping Acrylictnk will post some up and tempt us!

As I thought. I wouldn't think a Redhawk would be weak. I do remember that the Vaquero came out really strong, but the newer ones not so much.

Tom W,

Never fear, the Redhawk will take more than a BlackHawk in 45 Colt and that's sayin'something!!

I have 4" Redhawks in 41, 44 and 45Colt. I have fired some stout but not over "Ruger Only" loads in the Redhawk with nary an issue.

John Taffin did an article recently and also fired some 45 Win Mags in the moon clips. Interesting, but I don't have any of those lying around.

You will have good luck with your handloads as Contender said...
