Single-Sixer
Just received my 45 290-452 Dry Creek Bullets , thanks Lynn- look good.
I had been using 255 gr swc with 8 grains Unique, and have some loaded with 8.4gr Power Pistol- (haven't gotten to evaluate my Power Pistol loads yet... I got tired of the dirt Unique left behind). I hadn't considered Titegroup or HS-6, until I came across an April 2007 Handloader article (loads cut & pasted below.)
Anybody have experience with the below loads, and what are you using? Also any problems going to WLP primer instead of CCI's?
.45 Colt Load Data – 14,000 psi 285 RCBS 45-270-SAA cast, CCI-300 primers
(powder) (grains) (fps) (comment)
HS-6 10.5 893
Unique 8.0 924
Power-Pistol 8.0 915
TiteGroup 7.5 986 maximum, excellent accuracy
