I did some shooting today with my short bbl. Ruger Vaquero in 45 colt.
I had a hand full of Speer 250gr. Gold Dots that I loaded up with 21grs. of H110.
I shot a couple into the ground hoping to recover a bullet or two for my collection.
Well I recovered one of the two.

The recovered bullet weight was 249.5grs.
And the biggest diameter was .842. I think it would've been bigger but I was shooting at an angle & it caused the one side of the bullet to loose it's expansion.
But I have to say that I'm pretty pleased with the results.

No it's the old model. I shot some Speer 300gr. Flat points behind 23 grs. Of H110 out of it today too.
I think its easier on my hand then shootin my 10.5" SBH. It seems to roll in my hand instead of digging.

I used that same bullet in my 45 colt lever gun for deer hunting this year,no tracking involved- fell like a sack of potatoes on the spot. Gotta love the 45 colt!
