I've come into a life time or 2 supply of Green Dot powder. Have loads for .38 spcl , and .357 mag worked out. Looking for data for .45 Colt with 255 gr , and 270 gr cast bullets in a Colt SAA. Any information would be appreciated !

Lyman #47 has .45 Colt data for their 255 gr #452424 cast bullet:

4.5 gr - 6.5 gr Green Dot (producing 500 fps to 765 fps), with Winchester cases & primers, and 1.575" OAL

No pressures were listed, and the test firearm was a 7.5" Blackhawk, but the velocities look pretty low and the book does NOT say "Blackhawk or TC only"...

Maybe, but powders also have pressure ranges where they work best, and that may not be a good match. Certain faster powders might be ok, but more likely something like Unique or slower would be better to use. Get some manuals and it will be more clear, stick to proven recipes, especially with a Colt
