I was looking for a 4inch barreled Redhawk in 44 mag when I ran across this

This is a actual picture of the gun

I really enjoy shooting mine but that bobbed barrel looks pretty cool. I have to admit that I shoot 8 to 1 45 Colts v. 454s through it.

Yep..I can only imagine why.....( if i work this trade out, I will do the same)

454s have quite a bit of 'feedback' :) but they are not at all unmanageable. A good grip on a set of Hogue Tamers and you are in business. The extra weight makes shooting Ruger-only 45 loads feel like factory 44 specials.

A shorter barrel on a full house 454 load will definitely give you some "bark", but shooting 45 colt loads I think it would be quite nice.

That being said, I tend to be partial to the Redhawk more than the SRH, even though I own one of each.

I think that 5 1/2" is about the best balance between packability and shootability.

I just pick up a Super Redhawk inthe .454 a couple days ago. Mine is almost like new came with the box and scope rings were still in the packageing. It looks like some one got it shot it a couple times and decided to get rid of it. It dosent even have ring - around - the - cylinder yet.

If you like the gun then go on and get it if you dont like the recoil of the .454 then you can shoot the .45lc all day long through it. Besides I dont belive that Ruger makes he Target Grey anymore.

Hehehe, I wonder why?? ;) My S&W .500 was the same way when I bought it 4 months ago.

I love my Super Redhawk in 454 it has been to Alaska 3 times & on two Russia Boars hunts with animals taken. My Daughter who stands 5-'5" & less than 130#'s love to shoot it also with full hunting loads in it! I feel it is built right . J/S
