Is the bore of this gage tapered same as the case bore of a Ruger NV .45 ACP cylinder.
Was measuring the chambers of my cylinder and found the throats are all .451 and the
case bore seems to be a taper cut...small at front and larger at the rear.
Was going to machine up a case gage...yeah I know I can buy one,but making one is fun!

The case gauge SHOULD be cut to just accept a loaded cartridge that is at SAAMI maximum. The gauge`s internal spec should have the same taper as a SAAMI spec chamber in a gun.
Mine is a Dillon, Maximum case gauge. If a loaded round will drop in and not extend above the rear surface, you are good to go.
