.41 Mag ...will be surprised what they can do and how 'easy-shooting' they can be.
Same can be said of the .44 Magnum (.429) ;) Either by hand loading or by shooting .44 Special. I've not seen a good reason why the .41 even exists ... but that's just me. Anyway, enjoy whatever caliber turns your crank!

I don't know what happened to this 41 Magnum before it came to me, but it sure had a rough life somewhere. Look's don't effect how this gun shoots though. It's one of the most accurate guns I have.

In the past the thing about .41's for me was the more I investigated a potential purchase, the more likely it was that a savvy buyer would snap it up before I could get off the fence.

Now that I have the .41 covered, there is one or two on my bucket list but I don't expect to see one any time soon.

My 4&5/8 is from 1967, my 6.5 is from 1968. Both are wearing Stainless Steel Old Army grip frames and Jay Scott grips. I have the original frames and grips labeled and put away. 4&5/8 before and after.

That's a nice looking holster! Where did you get it?
Diamond D. Custom fitted. Alaska Hip Hunter with the optional drop loop. I have several of their holsters and other products they offer, that I've acquired in the last 10years or so. Never been disappointed. :)

Also have a matching butt cuff on my Henry BBSC, same caliber as the Ruger.

Also, be sure to read about their processes and the leather they use on the FAQ's page:

Well the auction ended this morning. I was able to inspect it last week and the pictures did not do it justice. Very clean and mechanically sound.
Timing was dead on, bore was clean with sharp rifling and blue wear was minimal.
I only wish I hadn't bought her a new car (thing doesn't even have a place for a key and no gearshift lever to be found anywhere) or I'd have been a bidder fo

Good Lord.....what auction site was that?? I've been looking for .41 Blackhawk.
Hey Scout, it was a local on line auction site called Obenauf Auctions (Round Lake, IL). The high bid was $401.00 plus 20% buyers fee and taxes and another $20.00 transfer fee. So the final price was a bit over $500.00 - - like I said above, I Inspected it and it was a super nice piece. It could have easily gone way over that at a big on line auction.

I lucked into a non Premier Six in Freedom arms and put a 2x7 Simmons on it. I scoped my 6.5 three screw .41 with a Leopld 2x8 to work up XTP loads.
Turned out that a load of 18.9 IMR 4227 and mag primers was all that my wrist could handle. The two guns grouped exactly the same, so I sold the FA for profit and kept my three screw back to iron sights, but Bowen rear.
Love that gun for balance and sight radius, but it shoots high right now. Need to fix that. The gun, pictured is better than a shooter I would say. I got caught up in bidding one time and won at 1350. Then the owner decided not to sell which I wasn't mad about. Within a month, I bought mine for 850.
When they will shoot to one inch at 38 feet at my indoor, I don't really care about the price.

Many years ago, I sold my pristine OM/3-screw for $900 (it was serial number 900). I then bought this Bisley 41Mag to shoot; and the FA '97 (below it) to look at. I don't hunt anymore; but I enjoy showing the 'black gun kids' at the range, that God has made something called the "41 Magnum". They have no idea what I'm talking about and still wonder why I would want to pull the hammer back every time I want the gun to go bang. They also marvel that the gun never misses that plates at 25 yds.

Hittman and Contender (as well as myself) will preach the gospel of the .41 to all who will listen. Handload them or just shoot factory loads and you will be surprised what they can do and how 'easy-shooting' they can be. For those who have been made gun-shy by some hard-bucking .44 Mags, this is a pleasure to shoot in comparison. They will shoot flat and can be loaded hot if desired.
I preferred to carry a 41 OM Blackhawk over the 44 Mag SBH while guiding on hogs during grad school. My preference in big bear country (or where there are moose around) is a hot-loaded 45 Colt OM Blackhawk. My wife has a 41 OM Blackhawk for bears.

I am a faithful member of the 41 Cult…

OM, bought this gun because the previous owner said it was shot out & needed a new barrel, Nope it was carefully preserved with a very nice thick coating of lead… 🙄
Once cleaned out it's Shooter, and a good one.

Finally a 10.5" 41 magnum Desert Eagle that was left to me by my best friend upon his passing.
Likes & eats all the hottest ammo you want to throw at it,,, while not experiencing ridicules recoil.
