What is the recommended twist for these calibers in a rifle barrel. Bullets used will be in the 158 to 180 grain. I'm thinking a 1 in 16 twist.

The new Ruger 77/357 uses a 1:16 RH twist.

Is that considered the ideal twist for the targeted bullet weights listed? I will never shoot anything heavier than 180 gr. and don't anticipate shooting anything lighter.

I would think so but I'm not positive. The Ruger Blackhawks and Vaqueros use the same 1:16 RH twist.

I got the 1>16 twist and it looks like it works with the Speer 170 GDSP's.

I haven't tried the 158 gr. bullets yet.
