Can someone tell me if an 8 shot model 00353 is rare and if so the value of an "unfired in the box" one may be?
There's one on gunbroker for sale now and the asking price is 2,500 which I think is ridiculous.....thanks for the infoWhile not exactly super rare, they are very uncommon and highly sought after. A NIB one can be in the $1500 range. Check gunbroker for completed auctions for the most recent values.
Yes you are correct (I'm 62 I know that) ....one sold for 1,600 in January this yearAsking prices are one thing, but the advanced search will give you completed auction prices.
I don't think it will sell for that, but it does raise the " psychological " bar...There's one on gunbroker for sale now and the asking price is 2,500 which I think is ridiculous.....thanks for the info
It may be like the gun you bought 10 yrs ago thinking it was too muchI don't think it will sell for that, but it does raise the " psychological " bar...
I've often thought "that guy didn't pay too much, just too early!"It may be like the gun you bought 10 yrs ago thinking it was too much
My Single Seven, SP101 and S&W 632-2 Pro all have no problem chambering 130 grain semi-wadcutters. I don't think you would want to go much heavier? If you can find one at a decent price, get it. Since it is a blackhawk, the cylinder is 357 mag length which opens up using heavier bullets than the shorter cylinders will allow.
Where do you get those 153 gr projectiles? The Blackhawk does a good job with 153s. That gets a sectional density around 0.225. Point being you are not limited by cylinder length.
I just got one of those. Only 18 away from your s/n. I haven't shot it yet but like you I only have the AE 100 grain ammo. I have brass, dies and bullets on the way from Midway. All I have for my Single Seven are Federal AE 85 & 100 grain soft points and .32 S&W Long.
Those 100 grain cartridges are something else in that little wheel gun.
