Since that is where the 7mm-08 came from... I would say it is a fair bet.

The 7mm-08 Remington is a rifle cartridge that is almost a direct copy of a wildcat cartridge developed around 1958 known as the 7mm/308. As these names would suggest, it is the .308 Winchester case necked down to accept 7 mm (.284) bullets with a small increase in case length.

i would resize one. Meas the OD of the neck, seat a bullet and meas neck diam again.

I used to make 243 from 308 but it took two sizing steps, neck reaming, and some required annealing. I'd go directly to 7mm08 with just normal trim to length.

Maybe the OP has a quantity of .308 brass???????

I make 7x30 waters brass from 30-30 cases. I've made .243 Win cases from .308 cases.

I do believe you can easily make 7mm/08 brass from .308 brass.

It is only .62mm of reduction. I doubt there will be any need for neck reaming, but that may depend on the 308 brass.
