Question.Did Ruger ever chamber a bolt action rifle in 30/30 winchester? If so when and what model?

Nope, none of their bolt actions has ever been chambered to .30-30.

The only companies that I can recall chambering bolt actions to .30-30 are Remington (the 788), Savage/Stevens (more model numbers than you can shake a stick at), and Winchester chambered the Model 54 (forerunner of the Model 70) to .30-30 as well. There may have been one or two I have forgotten, but I believe that is it.

I hope to have a #1 in 30/30 one day (along with several other chamberings).

The 30/30, next to the 444 is my favorite caliber.

For years my standard Florida hunt rifle was a Win Trapper 30/30.So wonderfully compact.

Then went to Ruger No.3 in 375 Win Big Bore.

Have finally settled on Ruger No.1 International which is shorter length than the No.3 and only a tad longer than the Trapper.

30-06 International recoil more comfy than the No.3.

El Numero Uno has or had a #1A in 30-30 with Circassion Walnut. Whew, worth the extra $'s cuz she's a beaut!

I consider myself recoil sensitive and this statement above makes me wonder if this person has ever shot a #3 in 375? I'd choose a 308 over a 30-06 merely do to recoil. The Ruger #3 375 is gentler than any 308 I've ever shot!

A #3 in .30 WCF would be awesome, as would a 77 or 96. The Remington 788's in this caliber sell fast on the rare occasion they come up for sale, many folks regard them as the penultimate repeater ever made in .30 WCF.

Oh yea,I did routinely shoot the No.3 375 Win.Big Bore
The No.3,with it's basic stock and metal butt plate does in fact wallop worse than the No.1 '06-for me.

I have a Savage Model 40 "Super Sporter" in .30-30. This model kinda looks like a Model 23 on steroids and was made in .30-30, .250-3000, .300 Savage, and .30-06. Not common and not the same as the "many models" bolt Savages mentioned above (340, 322, 325, etc).

There was also a deluxe version called the Model 45, which had a checkered stock with sling swivels fitted and nicer wood. Both "Super Sporters" have detachable box magazines which are just about as hard to find as the rifles now! The most common caliber seems to be .30-06; .30-30 is very uncommon.
