Was given a box of these and was wondering what type of powder/load you guys suggest for Turkey/Coyote out of my 30-06 Weatherby.

Speer suggests 9 different powder types with 27 loads for that particular bullet.
IMR4064, IMR4320, H322, 748, IMR3031, RE7, H335, IMR4895 are listed from about 3000-3400fps and SR4759 with a reduced load between 1550-1950fps..

Stumbled across a couple of more powders like 2400, Reloader11 and a reduced load of Trail Boss.
Most everybody considers a 100gr to be specifically for the 30carbine but there might be other loads published for it in 30-06.
Do you have a particular powder type in mind?

The SR4759 would be appropriate for reduced loads. The "government" load was 11 grains with a bakelite 108 grain frangible bullet for a velocity of 1300-1500 fps. Some manuals give a recommended load for reduced velocity with common bullets using 4759.
I wouldn't try for 3000 fps with this bullet. I've seen some bullets like these designed for lower velocities disintegrate in flight.

I love trail boss for reduced rifle loads. It is very hard to screw up if you just load the case with powder to the base of the bullet. Do not compress. That is the max load. Starting load is just 10 percent reduction in powder.

I use a full loads in my 30-006 with 139g lead billets meant for the 30-30. My 8 year old son nails clay pigeons off of the burm shooting from sand bags. Nearly zero recoil and a great way for him to transition from his 22 to a deer rifle.

I've read of using red foot and unique with lead bullets but have not tried it. Lyman's 49th lists some lead bullet loads if you decide to try lead.

Have fun.

I use IMR4064 with my '06 plinkers and with the 110gr hollow points. I use them for wood chucks on the in-laws farm.

I tried 2400 but never got the consistency.

Looking for the lightest load i can get....thanks for the info. i'll start with the SR4759 when i find some. There was a piece of paper in the box with recommended loads....should have looked closer. It's mentions this 'light' load along with several others.
SR4759 with a reduced load between 1550-1950fps..

Was just looking for a reason to take the Weatherby in the woods since i'm mostly a bow and handgun hunter when it comes to deer. This will would be a perfect step up from my .22 Magnum for Turkey and Coyote out 75 yards.

Speer #11 shows SR4759 with 16.0gr @ 1548fps, 18.0gr @ 1752fps and 20.0gr @ 1960fps.
This is out of a 22" model 700 with a 1:10" twist.
As always, confirm and only trust real published data!

I have some of those Speer Plinkers. Haven't shot them yet, but I was going to try them in 30WCF, .308 and 30-06. Light loads are lots of fun.
