I've seen a lot of posts and articles stating that accuracy for this rifle (77/22H) might be improved if one were to slip a washer into the 2 piece bolt. Said washer is to have a thickness of approximately 0.005". Where does one find such a washer? Should I just try to find a stainless steel washer the same diameter as the bolt and and "wear" it down to the proper thickness on an Arkansas stone? I don't have access to a machine shop.

The only thing this could do would be adjust headspace, as the .22H headspaces on the rim, just like a .22LR. I'd certainly have headspace checked before boogering with this.

Several .22LR rifles can have headspace corrected with a proper shim. This works on the H&R M12/5200 and the Remington 5-teens.

BTW, stoning down a washer to .005 would be a hell of a chore.
