10/22 magazine release help please

Please link me to a discussion on how to fix/replace/repair this poor design. Thanks. Old arthritic hands are making this harder than needs be.

Are you referring to the flush mag release? If so , update it with an extended mag release and they drop out quite easily. There are several different brands available from short unobtrusive one's , longer ones that may or may not get in ones way , and some that are more like a lever that fits underneath the trigger guard. Most of them are only a few bucks and are easy to swap out.

rugerjunkie is correct and extended 10/22 magazine releases are available in numerous configurations from many sources like Midway, Kidd, Volquartsen, TandemKross, Tactical Innovation and many others I've missed. They are priced from cheap to absurdly expensive. Here is Midway's web site page of the ones they offer:

Changing the factory release for any of these extended versions only requires removing the trigger group and pushing out one pin to free the old release and reversing the process to install the new one. There are a bunch of Youtube videos showing how it's done.
