1-A 7x57 first time at the range

I purchased this nice little 1-A 7x57 from Ruger1Nut in January, and finally got it to the range today. It shot pretty well once dialed in. I mounted a Leupold 2x7x33 scope on it and took along a box of 140gr Remingto Core-lokt ammo to sight it in with. I am pleased with the results and hope to improve on the accuracy some, although it is certainly accurate enough for the hunting woods! Thanks, Dave, for such a nice rifle! :D

If you ever run across some older Win. or Rem. 175 gr RN loads, give them a try. I'll bet you'll find that this rifle shoots them very well.

The 7x57 is pure class! My current one is a Win 70 FWT but there is a 77R floating around my family we have all killed deer with.

I love the Ruger #1's! They are the classiest rifle made......period! Oh and the 7x57 is in a league of its own also! Great buy!

I have two right now, a 30-06 and a 6mm Remington.

I've hunted with mine for 29 years - deer, elk, antelope and coyote or three. Bought a pair from one of my distributors who couldn't unload them in '82 at $122.00 each in order to get a Red Label 20.

Punched one out to .280 and had Keeper recoil systems burned in (a local EDM shop and a good friend). Sold the .280 to a friend who eventually sold it to my best friend. Been shootin' both of them forever.

Have used a 3x9 Burris Mini or a Redfield 2x7 compact interchangeably between the two with great sucess. If kept clean, both shoot about the same as Heliman's with a variety of loads, and the wood on both are pretty nice.

Definitely won't be for sale anytime soon.

7x57 is my other favorite rifle round, I would really like to have the No.1 International in 7x57!

I was a fan of RSI's prior to falling for No.1's. My No.1 RSI in 7x57 was a big surprise. It is so short and easy to handle. Great rifle!

I also am a member of the "7x57 Lovers Society". My favorite is my No.1RSI, followed by my No.1A, and lastly my Winchester M70 Featherweight (with factory iron sights) - all in 7x57... (or .275 Rigby) :wink: I've used 139gr to 175gr bullets - the lighter ones are OK but I seem to have better luck with 160-175grs. The 7x57 can handle just about anything I care to hunt - remember, Bell used it on African "Jumbos"!! 8) .....now if I can just find a M77RS in 7x57 :D
