Ruger #1 rifles in all kinds of calibers come up all the time on Gunbroker. I have six, and three more big-bore calibers keep calling to me: .338 Win Mag, 9.3X62, and .450/400. So many rifles, so little time.

Congratulations Ruger No 1’s are really cool rifles
For some silly reason, I also feel the call of a .450/400…
My first No.1 is a 7x57, (2000) that was gifted to me by my best friend who has since passed on.
I haven’t shot it much, (~30) taken 2 deer, 1 elk.
Bought a 100 rounds Remington 140gr core lock, that most likely will last my lifetime.

I just received a .450/400 3" and some ammo. I am not planning a trip to Africa. It is in the cabinet with the .458 Lott and .416 Rigby. The .375 H&H and .405 Winchester are there as well.
And I almost forgot the .35 Whelen and .45-70.

In my opinion, that is the best variation of the model, and the best chambering to have in the rifle. Enjoy!

My apologies for missing this earlier. Hope it is not to late to respond.
I have a Barnes 300gr TSX load that shoots pretty good at 100.
That isn't one time fluke.
First group shot by my son-in-law, younger than me. Second shot by me old guy.

And while you are loading 300 gr. .405 Winchester bullets in your .450/400 3", I have been thinking about loading 400 gr. .450/400 3" bullets in my .405 Winchester.
