I agree with you on all counts. But, If I had to pick one, I'd have to add another so two it is.
When I married my first wife because she was pregnant, when they told me I just said well let's just married No problem and I we both liked each other which didn't hurt things. From day one her mother tried to get her to divorce me and when my maternal grandmother joined in trying to break us up, that was the final straw. Took a while but they won.

Fast forward a couple of years and I'd met someone and we tied the knot after living together for a bit over a year. Enter maternal grandmother again. She never said anything to my new wife but she sure bugged hell out of me. Next she came up with some sob story and my wife agreed to have her come stay with us.The old hag tried to burn our new house down. That old woman was bat poop crazy She had three kids, all of which died One under let me say mysterious circumstances. That was my mother who passed when I was 13 months old. Granny had one obsession regarding who my wife would be. The fact that the girl involved had no clue and we both had gone our separate ways years ago did P.O. granny. I sent her back to San Francisco to live out what was left of her miserable life after she tried to burn us out. She passed a couple of years later from cancer. My first mother in law passed at age 90 a few year ago, oh happy day.
I've outlived all my old friends and old enemies as well. Sometimes I wonder the why of it?

Guy I worked with treated all probie fire fighters like you know what . Sneaky pos just a real jerk and he had rank you had to take it or be fired. Always hoped to be on a roof with him and give him a nice shove over the side. Fast forward he retires and has major health problems and lives in my district we start to go on medical call for him. At first I enjoyed seeing him in distress . But my revenge was just being professional to him when his wife tried to tell me he had been a fire fighter I just said yeh I worked with him nothing more . He wouldn’t even look us in the eye and I think us providing care just like any other person and not. Wanting to talk about old time or anything . But the fact that he was having a miserable retirement did make me smile. So I guest I’m an ahole
 
A last word from me on this.
I avoided the word hate with my original post but after reading the rest of this thread i realized that I truly do hate a couple of individuals.

I hate thieves & child molesters. If I were to catch either in the act, & particularly if the thief was in my home, or the child molester in any situation, I fear I might wind up in more trouble than those 2. Strongly think that either of the 2, if caught in the act should loose particular body parts related to their acts.

Can't say it any planer or nicer.
 
There are people I don't want to be around.....but I am not going to allow hate, that is simply baggage in my head that I don't need nor want. when you "hate" you give them power over you.
 
I control my hatred, not the recipient. I have all the power, they none. Never lose a moment's sleep over it or miss even one bite of a meal. But if I learned certain people had awakened dead yesterday I'd consider yesterday a better day than I had realized.

There are some people that I strongly dislike. I don't think I really hate anybody, or I try not to. I think in order to hate someone you have to know them. It takes a lot of effort to develop a hatred for someone.
Having said that, there are a lot of people in this world that I think we would be better off without.
 
My first job after retiring from military service found me working for a truly evil woman. At first all was good, but it didn’t take long for me to see her true nature. I was sure that if I watched carefully I would get to see her flying home on a broom. But she was a brilliant fund raiser and the Board didn’t care about much else since she brought in millions. I left that job as quickly as I could find another.. a few years later I heard of her death and it brought a smile to my face.
 
I can say that I don't "hate" anyone. Some I seriously dislike, but hate and holding a grudge are counter-productive. It's like drinking poison and waiting for the other guy to die, our stabbing your self in the leg and waiting for the other one to bleed. Neither are going to happen and the other person is generally unaware of any of it.
 
Think I strongly dislike the folks in the NAZI party that tortured my Grandparents. But my Uncles already righted that wrong.

So if you have ever worn an ISAR Patch you are good. But if you decided to torture to death someone wearing an ISAR Patch, it could be a problem. JMHO YMMV.

I think you and I are on the same page about a lot of things. Love and hate are strong emotions that both have a place in our lives.
I prefer love but I have no problem hating a truly despicable person if they have earned it.

I don't have any truly despicable people left in my life. Somehow they all have seemed to perish? I try and make it a point not to meet any other New truly despicable people. JMHO YMMV.
 
Yes I do my sister in laws daughter’s boyfriend or live in mate the ass hat is 65 years old and she is in her 30 the only reason he is sticking around for money she’s loaded . I know you guys remember Joplins tornado kill her father at Home Depot . So I sure it’s a father figure kinda relationship. Either way he ain’t welcome I’m my house . He’s a scum my brother is turning over his grave now
 
My Uncle married a 22 year Old when he was 99. He was the Uncle that told me the problem most 90 year Olds had was 80 year Old females. He sired three children with her, the last six months after he passed. Yes he had money, why else would a 22 year Old Gold Digger enter into such a relationship? So I have Uncles thirty five years my junior, that doesn't mean I consider them family.
 
I look for a certain person from my past working days. I look every day for him in the local obituaries. I'm hoping he shows up before I do. If so, I'll go out and have an ice cold A&W Root Bear and a couple foot long coney dogs with onion to celebrate! One of my goals in life in my elderly years! Once, his name showed up and I got excited but it was his son! Close but not quite. Oh well!

I know of four who have "done the World a Favor" and passed on to their "greater reward". I understand the "greater reward" is somewhat warmer than here on Earth.

I hope it's in a warmer place! Let's just say that I cool my brother with a little 2nd hand coffee occasionally. His death was pure Karma on many levels. He was an evil schemer from the time he was 5 or 6 and only got worse as he grew up.
