Do you have any LEVERage?

I only have one lever gun. People dropped it off at my house because they were not comfortable with guns, I told them I would love and care for it. It is a 1949 Winchester 94 in 30-30. It is in very good condition.
I had to pay for them... but I saved these from police turn-in for destruction;

model 94 lone star (pictured above), a no-prefix 10/22, an SMLE, and a Western Field (monkey wards) 16ga pump.

short version, when a widow approached her local LEO (my buddy) for help disposing of them, he talked her into contacting me for legal transfer, to which I obliged :)

I also scored both of these for $400 from a local that inherited them and couldn't even touch them

a neighbor was handling the transactions so it was fast and easy.

1941 Remington model 11R (factory verified WWII (R)iot model 11.

  • Marlin 1894 .357
  • Winchester 94/22 WMR
  • Marlin Century carbine .22 LR
  • Marlin 1894 .44 mag
  • Belgium Browning BLR .308

Winchester 30-30, Marlin 39M & a Rossi 92 in 357. Sold a Marlin Guide in 45-70 due to shoulder problems. So not many.

But,,, if I were to come into a large sum of extra money, a plan of mine for decades has been to travel & buy up an arm load or 2 of pre 64 Winchester levers or other neat specimens.

Yeah I would like a turn of the previous century Winchester in .30WFC to match a family heirloom Colt. Saw one this past weekend at a show that looked like it was from the '60's condition-wise so the price was $4K.

sure as heck can't have to many.

Always wanted a Winchester 1894 and my gf told me to go visit an LGS when she went out of town. I did and found a Sporting Rifle in .30 WCF. Finally found one in 2017.
Solid frame. It is not atake down!
Mfg.1907-1909 (depending on 3 different sources, but prob 1908) Rifle wasmanufactured prior to July 1908 / Winchester by R.L. Wilson, p.149-150.
Octagon Nickel Steel Barrel 26”
Magazine: 9 + 1
Buttstock is a Crescent type.
RifleBarrel Address is a Type 2
Tangis a Type 2
Most people refer to the pre-1964 guns as 1894's.
and post 64 guns as 94's.
The difference is in the receiver pre-64s are steel and post 64s are winloy. It is an alloy that doesn't blue well, so they flash copperplate them, then blacken the plating.
Thats also why theres a big difference in price between pre and post 64guns. Most collectors consider post guns as shooters only.
Hammer has no “widow's peak”, which were on the early hammers.
Oval with VP inside on the underside of barrel. This stamping is not onthe frame.
Rifle appears to have been worked on before. It had two holes drilled into the left side of the receiver to mount a side scope. Bought two screws to close them up.
Barrel has a plum patina. Possibly brought on by a poor bluing job. Has several other new parts on it though.
Went shooting with it and fired three rounds. The metal butt plate was hard on my shoulder and left a bruise. Correct way to shoot the Crescent butt is to place it on the bicep with a slight twist of the rifle.

I just bought this old Winchester 94 from 1950. Couple minor scratches on the barrel. Extra honest seller says it may be a re blue, butI think it’s original finish. If not original it was done right. Stampings are all crisp no dishing.

It must be one of the last made with long forend and marked .30 W.C.F. I believe 1950 was the transition for both of those. Kind of neat in that regard.

Only thing I see wrong with it is the tang sight. They weren’t drilled and tapped for tang sights in 1950, but it was done right, and honestly I like tang sights.

3 Henry's (.22 Mag, 410 & 45 Colt), a GForce .357, & 2 .22LR (Remington Revel and an old single shot Ithaca).
Forgot my Marlin 1894 .44 Mag/.44 Spl
Had a Marlin 336C 30/30 for over 20 years but sold it when retina specialist advised me to reduce recoil.
