New from northen Illinois. I don't post very often but will if I have information that may help fellow gun owners. i found this forum when I was looking for information on trigger work for a Ruger P85. Thanks to the admin for allowing me to join.

Welcome to Ruger Forum. Good to have you here.

Welcome. Started life in Hinsdale/Downers Grove. Is your P85 unmolested or is it stamped MKII? Mine will be getting a workout next week for a fun range project.
My P85 got the safety upgrad years ago and it did get the MKII stamp on the right side safety. It's one of my favorite pistol, just wish it had a better trigger.

That's a shame, IMO. Not much you can do with the trigger. Shoot it a TON (if not already, at least 500-1000 rounds or dry fire). Then clean thoroughly, CAREFULLY polish contact points (IE: Sear, strut), lightly oil, maybe install a spring kit. I did nothing to mine aside from a good cleaning and a touch of light stoning. It has a lot of rounds through it. It's intended as a duty/service sidearm and being a longish DA it won't clean up or be tuned like a 1911 trigger.

Welcome from Sunny 🌞 California !! The land of fruits and nuts !! The number "55" is very good number. Welcome !! 🙂
