New here

Welcome.

I'll give you this bit of advice. If you're visiting forums to decide what to get, you're going to be disappointed. Let's take this forum for instance. Most here are a fan of and own Ruger's. They post up when they have a problem with their gun. Folks join all the time just to gripe about a problem with their new gun, thinking their griping to Ruger. Same with a S&W forum, a Colt forum, a Glock forum. The posts about a problem are always going to outnumber the posts praising their gun. Same with car forums, the Chevy forum is loaded with problems with Chevy's. Just the way it is.

All the posts of problems will make you think they're all junk.

Love this forum. Been here for a few years, and while at one-time I owned a lot of Ruger, I'm down to a 10/22. Now other guns, Glocks, Sigs, Colts, etc. I have enough of those.

Welcome aboard. You'll find there's some problem of something or another with all guns, no matter what the cost. Many times also, the ammo used leads to people thinking their gun doesn't work correctly.

Even the gun in your pants will have a problem or many over time and needs an expert to help fix.

Just find the gun you like, in the caliber you want and learn as much about it as you can to fix or modify to your liking (if you so desire). I enjoy them all, but I also learned about some of their faults too, through shooting them as not all guns will have the same faults within a manufacturer. Ya just never know what might lead to a fault. It might be a spring that wasn't heat treated correctly, or a part that broke in which nobody that owned that model of gun has ever heard of having that problem before.

One of the regular Ruger forums that I visit. Lots of knowledgeable folks on this board and are willing to help with any questions you may have. And I must say you have got to at least have one Ruger. 😉

Oh you know we're going to recommend Ruger :)

Welcome!

I've been going through different forums of different guns hoping to learn more and came across this site. Hoping to learn more before I decide getting a Ruger or another. Thanks!
Hook that seat belt up and get ready for wild ride..... gun talk here is not just about Ruger's. Utilize the "search" box for issues you're concerned with and then don't be afraid to ask a question, even if the response you get is - asked and answered 1, 378 times already. Search doesn't always get you where you want to go..... now, "Enjoy the moment" yee haaa 😉
