Yes, been reloading since the 1960s. The 41 mag is one of those rounds that is inherently accurate. Most everything shoots good and some shoot lights out. That load is close to what Bill Jordan and Elmer Keith mused about for LE. They thought the best balance in a police load would be around a 200 grain bullet at around 1100 give or take. That load is a 210 cast bullet that averages 1079 fps. It is very comfortable shooting and it is very accurate when I do my part.
I learned to reload in mid '70's from an old friend. An OM BH .41 was the first handgun I owned. Grew to appreciate it for accuracy and take down. I lost my reload info from then, so I don't know what I loaded, both lead and jhp. We cast our own lead. Still love the .41, wish more people would learn to appreciate it.

Those blued 5 1/2" redhawks sure do look good.
congratulations on a great find, I have a snowbird that is coming to AZ in a few weeks and is selling me his 7 1/2' .41 mag Redhawk to go with my Blackhawk 6 1/2' and 2 Smith 57"s. Shot my first handgun whitetail buck and many after that with .41 magnums.
I gave up on ever getting one, had to settle for a S&W 657. OH, woe is me.......

Except I really wanted a Redhawk...................Thats pretty funny. I gave up for now too. 4" S&W 57 should be here any day. Its pre-lock, but still relatively newer production (2005?). It's magnaported and I've never had one of those, should be interesting. I really wanted a standard 4" 657 or 4" Mountain 657, but the prices can be a bit much.
Funny, but several years ago I'd gotten the .41 Mag itch pretty badly. I dearly wanted a model 57 but they never showed up locally in gun shops and always were sky-high at gun shows.
One day I was in a LGS and someone had JUST traded in a 5.5" Redhawk. The shop owner shot me a price that couldn't be resisted so I "settled" for the Redhawk to scratch the .41 itch and it became my whitetail gun. Couple years later I ended up finding deals on two model 57's within just a few weeks of each other, then later it was a 657 and then a few Blackhawks. Last year I got super lucky with a great deal on a very early (S-serial) model 58 as well, so I certainly can't complain. There are still a couple or 3 variants on my wish list but they never show up within my price range.
I got the itch in the early seventies. Mid 80's I bought a 657 in a presentation box with the cleaning kit a paper work. I think I paid 600.00 for it. Kept it a while, ran it off on a ball board, 10.00 a square. Someone got a great deal, and I made a few buck. One of my many firearms regrets....

For some reason, I never really got the .41 Redhawk bug. I've kept multiple .44 and .357 Redhawks, but always sold the .41's. Looks like I've sold off five of them in the last 20 years, four SS, one blue, one SS 5.5" the rest 7.5". One 7.5" was the R model with rings. Three w/boxes, two of those w/shippers.
The only DA .41 Mag that I have is my dad's S&W model 57 in the wood case w/tools, it is the 6.5" barrel.
When I was a teen, my dad had a model 58 but he sold it when he got the 57. These days it seems the 58 sells for as much or more than the 57.
Nothing against the caliber, I have whole pile of single action Ruger .41 Mags; Old models, New Models, Bisleys, Hunters. Just never kept the Redhawks for some reason. If there's one I wish I hadn't sold, it would be the KRH41R, the ring model, which had the box & shipper. I sold it here in the forum Classifieds in 2020. It even had an invoice from when it was ordered from Buckeye Sports in Ohio in 1988. And it had a silver Redfield scope with it. It wasn't even that easy to sell here, I had to keep reducing it until someone took it for $800 shipped. I guess that was the early pandemic economic fears when everyone was hanging tight to their money.
In 2010, I sold a 7.5" blue one on GunBroker and lost money on it, it sold for $557 plus $25 shipping.
But then in 2021, I sold a boxed w/shipper KRH41 (not R) on GunBroker and it went for $1375.25 plus $50 shipping.

Rob, you might want to double check the barrel on that 57.
Smith standardized the 57 production at 4, 6, and 8 3/8".
And yes I remember when you couldn't give away a M58.
Now folks realize they were much lower production numbers than the 57.

You're right, it is a 6" according to my spreadsheet. The model 29 was first offered in 6.5" before later changing it to 6". My mid-length 29 is 6.5".
There is a blued 5.5 inch redhawk on gunsinternational for $1050. Sadly, I feel like that is a fair deal. It includes $50 for shipping. I couldn't pull the trigger though. Seller is probably ok, but he didn't have a lot of footprint and its not a dealer or a well known person. Something in my gut wouldn't let me do it. I just missed out on a steal a few weeks ago. Dealer in Charlotte had a somewhat haggard 5.5 blued redhawk, but was only $650. For that price, I'd have just shot it like crazy and sent to CCR for refinish later if I felt like it.

They only built approximately 20,000 of the model 58, IIRC, and an older gentleman told me that only 1,800 of those were the S-series serial number. A year ago I ran across this early (Jan. 1966) S-series and it was my great fortune to snag it for a very respectable price. It's like a mega-model 10!

no, shipping sleeve only. It is a wonder Ruger didn't have a KRH-415 stamp on the sleeve as well.
