My wife bought me a 4" SS Redhawk for Christmas this past year and I'd have to say that it's everything any S&W or any other brand would be right off the shelf. $450 for an out of production gun that will only go up in value... yep, I'd do it.

Has anyone ever used any of the DVD's out there on gunsmithing the Ruger single actions? My son is wanting to be able to work on his and would like to shorten the learning curve a bit.

Sebtool, the story is always better than the gun anyway. I went through the same thing to get my father in law's .270 from a brother in law for my son. It was nutin fancy and it cost me $500 but it was worth it.

I can tell you one thing that played around with back in the late 70's. In my snubs I found that the lighter weight bullets gave better performance than the heavy weights. I shot Remington 95 grain, 110 grain, and 125 grain factory stuff out of mine and the 95 worked best of all. I got good...

I have a number 1 in .308. I didn't know it was anything special. I can tell you this though, it will out shoo my Remington 700VS all day long.
