Finally got it back from Ruger...

UPS rang the bell today. The Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan (Sarah) is back. So that's 16 days to get to the Mother Ship and back again. They paid for the ride. Of course I took her apart to see if they had done some corrective action. According to the enclosed letter they had repaired the...

    Super Redhawk Alaskan

Great deal. UPS left me a notice today. They're tring to deliver something from S. Ruger. I guess my Alaskan is coming back from the Mother Ship. Will try to be here tomorrow to receive it. Interested in seeing what they had to say and more so about the concerns I had with it.

    Taking apart a super redhawk

:) Ruger called me today. They've replaced the hammer and trigger link guard so far and she should be sent back to me next week. Thanks for the help. Bill

    Redhawk Back to the factory.

I've been around firearms for a few decades now but find there is always something more to be learned. I did the pre-range inspection and cleaning on a new Alaskan last month. I had some dis-assemble problems. I took her to the range and put 50 rounds of .44 Mag through her. I brought her home...

    Super Redhawk Alaskan measurment please

Either would be great. But... I still prefer the Alaskan 2.5 barrel. She's up at Ruger now getting some work done on her. If she comes back with my concerns resolved I'll be a happy camper.

    Super Redhawk Alaskan measurment please

I just bought one last month. I've always had a thing for the Super Redhawks but that long barrel put me off. With the 2.5 barel and the right holster she's a good carry. Ruger introduced her in 2004 as a practical trail gun for dangerous game country. Sort of a handy thing to have around when...

trigger job on super red hawk?

It's Ruger in Southport, CT. I spoke to Gil, there this morning. He says its their shop being examined per my list of concerns. They had it since the 4th. So, who knows how long. :D I know a couple of Gunsmiths here in South Carolina but since it's still under warranty, it's their dime.

    Super Redhawk Alaskan.

I just ordered a holster from J. R. Roscoe in Ft. Worth for a Ruger Redhawk Alaskan in 44 Mag. It should be ready in about three weeks. I've talked to Michelle on the telephone a couple of times, due to the weight of the revolver the leather is going to have to be a bit more stouther than usual...

trigger job on super red hawk?

My Alaskan is up in Conneetieut getting tuned up right now. I bought Iowegan's Gun Guide. Good stuff.

    Long vs short barrel question

To each his own. When it comes to short barrels... the Ruger Super Redhawk Alaskan 44 Mag.

    My first .44

Nice looking weapon. My first 44 Mag is a SRH Alaskan. I've had .357s that kick harder.

    Taking apart a super redhawk

:D I just went through all this mess this weekend. I ordered a Ruger Popper from a fellow in North Carolina. $10.00. Great information here on how to get through it though. They should have had some better instruction in the manual, plus on the video at the Ruger Web Site. Using the...

    Camping Gun Recommendations

:) I would suggest a Ruger Super Red Hawk Alaskan 44 Mag, with a 2 1/2 in barrel. I have had .357s that kick worse. Bears, gators or Boars, not a problem. But then to each his own.

New 44 mag Super Redhawk owner would like some advice

I'll have to get a Ruger popper for sure. If I can find one that'll work on a Red Hawk. Meanwhile a 1/8 Allen Wrench will have to do for now. Ruger could have been a bit more specific on their instructions. The Trigger Guard Lock Plunger needs to be pressed inwards towards the trigger guard on...
