Amen. I u sed to have a single vertical gun rack on the transmission hump in my Jeep. I clearly recall coming out of the desert down I-15 in the Cajon Pass and getting stopped b the CHP. The officer saw a shotgun in the rack, asked if it was loaded. Once I said no, he just waived me through the check point. Never did find out why they were stopping all traffic.
O taking my wife for a few nights camping up in Big Bear Lake. It was my Jeeps first outing. I happened to hit during deer season. I was stopped by a ranger. At that time my rifle was in a horizontal rear window rack. Ranger ask if I was hunting, to which I replied no. And again if the rifle (a lefty Remington 700 in 30-06) was loaded.
