Hi, gb3.

I read your post about needing an OM .357 cylinder.

If you would use a micrometer and get the following dimensions of your 9mm cylinder, I will check with a friend and see if there an OM .357 Magnum cylinder in his parts bin.

1. Diameter of the cylinder you have,

2. Length from back of cylinder chamber to front of cylinder chamber,

3. Length from ratchet face of cylinder pin hole to cylinder pin hole nose.

Be patient, please.

Edit: Please post the dimensions in your reply to my comment.

Just my two cents worth...
In Nov 2022 I bought a set of 5 OM Rugers, all made in 1970 & 71. In the set was a 4-⅝" 357 mag Blackhawk. After getting them all home I was cleaning and checking it and found the cylinder was 9mm. Contacted the seller but they had no idea where the 357 cyl was. Looked around a bit online for a cylinder with no luck. Local gunsmith suggested I call Ruger about my delima. Did so and found that they would fit a new cyl to the gun. They sent me a Fedex shipping label. Shipped the gun off and 3 weeks to the day got it back with the new cylinder. Conversion had been done and my original parts were in a bag with the gun and 9mm cylinder. Disassembled the gun, pulled out the conversion parts, installed original parts. Checked the frame for the "R" conversion mark but there was none. Took the gun to the range, shot both cylinders. Worked like a champ.
Total cost to my credit card was a whopping $95 total.
Thats my story and I'm sticking to it. Your milage may vary.....

Thank you Sir! No big rush for sure I appreciate you reaching out. There an old beat up looking one on TX gun trader but doesn't have any measurements.

Hi, gb3,

Sorry for the delay.
I'm headed out to see if a cylinder for your .357 is in a parts bin.
I'll let you know if I find one.

I only found one that may work.

When you say "Old Model" I assume it is a three pin version with four clicks when you cock it.

From what I understand there is a Medium Frame and a Large Frame version of those. I used to have a Large Frame .45 Colt.

The larger .357 cylinder that I found is way larger and longer than the dimension you sent.

Here is the smaller of the two.

This is what I came up with:

Cylinder diameter

Cylinder length

Ratchet face to cylinder pin hole.

It sounds like bpimwheel might have a great solution for you.
No extra work needed if you have Ruger fit one.
