Yes they have been around for quite a while! The late Laudise had two of them on his table a few years before he died, I know it is not one of a kind!

I have seen one in a book. I believe it is in Pistolsmithing by George Nonte. I just checked, it's on page 385 in the caliber conversions section and could be a twin except the grips are different.

There was even an expanation of what the conversion took in terms of gunsmithing in an old NRA publication, either the American Rifleman or one of their Guides to Gunsmithing. There was a similar article on converting the MKI to .22 Short for Olympic rapid fire training. (Hint: the .22 short conversion is a little simpler.....). Betcha .32ACP would be simpler than .32 S&W Long....but WHY? And I LIKE .32s.....
