Yesterday, with my California 10 day cooling off period over & the paperwork completed, I picked up my new Ruger Single Six type 1 roundgate (RSS5) s/n 64230. It came with non factory wood grips, safety converted, original parts, box it shipped in from the factory after the conversion & factory invoice. Once that was done, I did a little shopping in this gun store & found five Ruger boxes. When I asked how much for them, they said $25.

The boxes are;

T678 shipper box only (s/n 11-54131)
RSS5 (both boxes) with matching s/n 172491 & has a "With Walnut Grips" sticker on the end label
unlabeled long yellow & black box with BN 34 end label in the box
brown hinged S-410N (s/n 83-21575) box with Ruger eagle logo on the lid with "RUGER" above the logo
KBP-7 shipper box (s/n 145-01447) with a mint BN 45 Blackhawk box (s/n 46-06592) inside of it

When recording the particulars of these boxes to share with the Ruger Forum members, the KBP-7 shipper box s/n seemed very familiar to me. It turns out that back in 2007, I bought R.C.A. 1 of 200 KBP-7 s/n 145-01447 from this shop without it's shipper box. As luck worked out yesterday, I have the shipper box making this a complete package!

Here is an "after" photo of my RSS5. I removed the aftermarket walnut grips & installed the proper ones. Plus, I had the safety conversion parts replaced by the original parts, making it original again!

That's pretty neat about finding the matching box/shipper for a gun you own!

The BN34 box is next to worthless but the S410N brown box could be worth as much as 50 bucks to someone who needs one.

The RSS5 box is a sweet deal with the moly tag and the walnut grips sticker. Then the shipper is really KEWL since it indicates RSS4 as well as RSS5, which is interesting since the printed RSS4 box is shorter than the RSS5 box, so this shipper must have been made to be used with the RSS5 box with RSS4 sticker over the end. I have a complete package RSS4X in the printed box and the SN is 187xxx, so that kind of indicates that there was a short run of stickered RSS5 boxes used prior to the printed RSS4 boxes, then again later after the initial run of RSS4 boxes.
