I love flickers except when they try out their beaks on a tin roof or roof gutter....sounds too much like a PK on high rate for me! Ever watch one eat ants? They lick them up by the tongue full!

Click to expand... Mike, they can be noisy critters when they're drumming. Yes, they can gobble up ants (and termites to). Very interesting birds. Not particularly rare but not all that common around here either. Jeff
