I have the GP100 grips that have the Rose wood centers. Is that called compact?

Possibly. If the rosewood insert is the same size as that used for the SP101, then yes. If you are not sure, feel free to email me a pic and I can tell you if such is the case.

I just looked at my SP 101. So the GP-100 Rose wood grips must be the larger variety

I have a set of Pachmayrs for sale here on the Classifieds that are for the compact frame GP-100. They fit my 3" stainless GP-100 perfectly, I just prefer the original grips.
