Well that was an interesting read. How to turn a $250 gun into a $1K gun. It's fun to personalize your gun just the way you want it, especially the tune up.

I always polish the hammer sides to prevent corrosion. That brushed satin surface really promotes surface rust like we see so much on used Ruger hammers.

I would prefer fluting the cylinder, not turning it into looking like a lug nut. But everyone’s tastes are different and nothing wrong with that.

To me the best part was right off the bat....recutting the forcing cone & muzzle crown plus adjusting the loading gate tension.
The improvement in group size was excellent & stiff loading gate problem solved IMO.

Terry absolutely right. Part of what I consider a tuneup (and including action smoothing); something everyone can do with a small investment in tools that can be used over and over.
