Why would you need the several safes I saw in some of the rooms when the entire place is a safe? I guess they were probably left over from before he put the big vault safe door on the entrance.

Being happy is a relative term. It's like the old parable of $100. If you give a poor man $100 he would lose sleep because he had so much money. Give a rich man the same amount and he would lose sleep because it's so little. I sleep just fine and in the end someone else will end up with everything in that video.

It seems to me that he was never really happy with it all. That's why he kept building more and buying more to the point where he is now. Seems to me that if he was really happy, he would have stop accumulating some time in between the start and now.

Sure but if you need a lot of cash right away, it's not like you can just go to the bank and take out what you need. Ever heard the expression, "rich man but cash poor".

I was inside the Boston Herald building before it was torn down. Upstairs there was a wall with a massive safe door built into it. The actual room was about 100’x50’ with another safe door built into the other end. It was completely empty. None of the walls were outside walls. It was amazing.

Actually you can if you own a little real property, just have the bank devise a line of credit for you and borrow it when ever you need it and then pay it back quick... even divest some of the investments if needed to pay the loan. To tell too much that is how my wife replaced our Ford Flex that was crushed by Helen... we went to Carmax one day, I had already decided on a car they had in inventory, we looked at it, drove it, waste of time, told the sales person we would be back the next day at noon with a certified check for the amount they were asking.... next day went by the bank picked up the check, showed up at Carmax , signed papers and they handed us the keys.
but you are right in someways carry, I am 'gun rich' and cash poor for sure. The good news is I realized just last night there is a younger guy at my church who can help my wife out with my gun 'collection' if and when I'm gone.

No one knows who the individual is OR, what his net worth actually is. All that stuff might be just a "drop in the bucket" for him...Paid for with dividend funds.

There was a movie made about J. Paul Getty, then the richest man on Earth, whose grandson is kidnapped. When Mr. Getty is hesitant to pay the ransom, his assistant asks him why, saying "don't you have enough money already?" or words to that effect. Getty answers "Not yet!". Money is relative, as we all know. Right this moment if I won a lottery that brought me $1 million in cash it would make a major change in my life. If my old schoolmate, David Geffen, a multi-billionaire in Hollywood won that amount it would likely not make even the most minor impact on his life.
I saw someone, maybe on YouTube, convert a basement into a John Wick Continental Hotel gun room. Very cool.
For me, a roof over my head, enough money for my wife to live comfortable if I died before her and leaving my daughter, son-in-law and grandkids a little leg up in life is what makes me happy. If we won a 100 million in a lotto, we would give 80% to friends, family, church and deserving charity's. Learned a long time ago money doesn't make happiness. What a lot of money can do, is afford a person to be unhappy in nicer places. :-)

I worked on a 64,000 acre ranch, ( not the biggest one the Old Man had) , got to shoot when and where I wanted. Had horses every where, 4x4 vehicles to drive, and $300.00 a month. I thought I was rich!! The old man had several ranches from 12 square miles to over 300 square miles and he was as happy as a pig in mud. Money may help things, but doing a job you like: PRICELESS.

I hate to say it there comes a time in life when you start wondering what you or more to the point others are going to do with all your stuff, I'm actually there and starting to try and figure it out. Just to be a bit political, if Trump wants to make America Great Again then he needs to convince the people that we are drowning in all the crap we have collected and are continuing to buy that is totally not needed. And I hate to say it this includes guns... from a personal perspective and more than I should say in public... how many handguns do I need? I think most folks would admit that 40+ might be a tad too much.
