My boyfriend (1Rugerfan_33) Bought me my first RUGER! He bought 2 consecutive serial number Ruger 10/22 TakeDown rifles... I love mine!

We went to visit his parents for the weekend, and it so happens that the FFL he likes to go through is also near where is parents live. We weren't planning on getting the rifles so fast, but the day before we were planning on leaving he got a call... the rifles are in! :) :D :) We were pretty excited about it on the way up... but then again, I'm always excited to get a new gun!

Of course, I left my license at his parent's house and had to call his dad and ask him to go through my stuff to give me my DL number   oh well, that done, we took them back and figured mine out first. It is so simple and fast.

One thing though.... inside the pack was a disheartening sight.... the pack is made in CHINA *grumbles* oh well. :? Other than that, it's nice set up. We are gong to get regular backpack straps and metal D rings soon.

We didn't have time to shoot them that day, but we spent a couple hours at the range the next day... open sights at just under 50 yards free standing and not sighted in one bit ... i was hitting a soda can and anything else i aimed at more often than not!

Not sure about the problem areas you are talking about, but one of them, the grip on the barrel isn't quite lined up, close, but not quite...

The finish on the barrel is typical ruger finish. We have been talking about maybe polishing the reciever... i think it just looks... unfinished. we might leave them original just because they are twins though

BUT, i love shooting it! :D

I didn't care for the China thing either. I also didn't appreciate having to pay for a large lock and locking mount which came with the TD. I have a pretty good collection of new unused Ruger pad locks, I wonder if Ruger has a buy back program?

Considering it's my first Ruger, i didn't mind the padlock 8) ... maybe i can use the metal bracket as part of a base somehow to mount a gun on the wall with the ability to lock it there????? *shrugs* or not. I'd have to look at it a little more closely.

I love mine. The only really irritating quality issue is the front sight sweat soldering, very rough. See the photo. The barrel has some indents from the slidebut I don't know if that a problem or not.
