As Christians, we believe the soul lives forever. The late Dr. Adrian Rogers, pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church in Memphis, was a master of phrases.

He once summed it up this way: "Once you were not. But now that you are, there never will be a time when you will not be."

There are a couple of books called "Adrianisms."

Whether you want to or not, you are going to. This is what Christians believe. You have no choice in the matter. The choice you are given is whether you will live with the Savior or not. That is something only you can decide.

Whatever circumstances befall you, you alone decide how you will live and whom you will follow.

A physician friend gifted me one of those books of Adrianisms a few years ago. I've enjoyed reading it and gained some wisdom in the process. Eternal life for the believer is an "already but not yet" proposition.

Theology aside, given the physical deterioration associated with advancing age I wouldn't want to live 'forever'. I'm already frustrated by lost capabilities and inability to do the things I could do previously. Some folks may look at this differently.

The trick is keeping the living and the dying in some kind of balance.
Don't step too far over the fuzzy grey "stupid" line too often.
Sometimes the best parts of life are in those grey areas.

I too, have no wish to live past my time. Daily I find things that are more and more difficult to do. I fight it, but that only goes so far!
Bob according to my Bible: “Matthew 24:36 No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” My own belief of death is based on Ecclesiastes 9:5 : “For the living know that they will die, / but the dead know nothing; / they have no further reward, / and even their name is forgotten.”
Also on Christ’s explanation of death to his disciples regarding Lazarus: “Faced with the illness of Lazarus, Mary and Martha sent Jesus a simple message: “Lord, the one you love is sick.” Their message conveyed intimacy, and humility. The disciples wondered if Lazarus was asleep, why was everyone weeping? Jesus said “Lazarus is dead!” John 11:11. The whole story is John 11:1-45.
I pray to die quickly. I am not afraid to die, I just don’t wish to suffer in the process.

My wife's maternal grandfather live to be 97, at that time the oldest recorded living member of his family. When Nita's mother passed that age, she sort of took it as a contest! She died at age 100, plus eight months. Nita's aunt, her mother's younger sister, also lived to be 100, but died at three months into her 100th year. So Nita's mother still holds the record and can't be surpassed by her generation.

Forever ? Is there some kind of limit to the amount of information the human brain can hold? How far through that "forever" will the human brain give up due to overload?

You can't run today's computers on 640 KB of ram and a 20 megabyte hard drive like my first Tandy computer. See what I'm talking about?

Won't be a problem, brain has a built in sediment pump that dumps out all the useless
stuff. Some people have obviously tiny brains or an overactive sump pump yet manage to
still walk among us.

You will. As to where and the circumstances is all up to you. God wants us all in his heaven. But the choice is ours. Acceptance of Jesus as our Savior is the key that unlocks an incredible eternity.
