Several years ago I bought a Mossberg 930 JM Pro. The thing simply would not run, eventually it returned to the mother ship who declared it "within specs".... apparently failures to eject, failures to feed, and stop pipe jams are normal.

I gave up on it for several years and then came across OR3gun and their tuning kits. The kit cost about $185 with shipping and included an adjustible recoil spring plug, heat shield, mag spring follower and an extended bolt release.

Install was very simple and I used setting #2 on the recoil plug (it has 4 settings). It appears all problems are gone, I ran a huge assortment of bird shot, 00/000 buckshot and some rifled slugs. Everything worked perfectly, so much so that its now my home defense gun.....10 rounds of 12g will solve most issues.

The most accurate buckshot was the federal flight control and the most accurate slug was the Freedom Munitions Xtreme.

You did exactly what I did and what countless other 930 owners have done, you threw money at the aftermarket to fix what Mossberg should have done from the start. It sucks that it took years and extra cash, but now you've got a 10-round 12-gauge that actually runs. That's a hell of a home defense setup. The Federal Flight Control is the right call for indoors, and the Freedom slugs give you reach if you need it. Sleep easy with that thing nearby.

My buddy had one of those 930's. It was a jam-o-matic. I few missed ducks in the blind and that thing quickly went in the bone pile. When it went bang, it was a nice shotgun. But way too unreliable. I doubt he would have spent even a penny to fix those problems. He will never put his hands on another mossberg firearm ever again. I guess me neither, having witnessed what a pos it was.

I have a 940 pro tactical. I bought it from my buddy who had to send it back twice for jamming. Second time they replaced the barrel supposedly. We had suspected the bolt cutout in the barrel hood was the issue. Looks like we are right. Runs like a top now. But he went and bought the Beretta Patrol instead and I got a great deal on the Mossberg.
