I have an original redhawk with a serial number below 500 of the first run. It's SS with a 7 1/2" barrel. Just wondering if a low serial number would increase the value. It is still in factory cardboard box shot less than 50 rounds. year made is 1980. Any help would be appreciated.

The biggest value factor for that one would probably be if it is a one or two-digit gun and if the original owner can be traced to a factory employee or gun writer. In most cases with a two digit Ruger firearm made post 1972, an individual would be lucky to get full retail out of it today as there just doesn't seem to be enough interest to generate the additional premium.

I have followed several on gunbroker, the price depends on caliber, condition, etc. A low serial # might help value. Like a lot of things it depends on the right buyer. I would say value would be around $600-$800.
