Will a Leupold VX-3L fit on a M77 Guide Gun
I searched here and have looked on line with no luck.

Has anyone put or seen a Leupold VX-3L on the Ruger Guide Gun?

The front sight looks to be far enough forward.

I have the scope and finally saved enough to get a .338 Win guide gun.

I would guess you could. Scope is too big for my liking. I have a Leupold VX-3 2.5-8x36mm with Alaskan Arms quick detach rings on my 375 Ruger Guide Gun. Like the weight and compact of this scope. With it mounted low I get a good check weld to the comb of the stock. Good field of view and is fast to get on target. Shot a mule deer off hand one shot at 150yds like I was pheasant hunting with a shotgun. Kind of the purpose of a 20" barrel magnum rifle. Short, compact and fast to get on an animal. The scope you mentioned would be better on a standard 24" or 26" rifle shooting at longer distances. My opinion anyways.

I think you might find that the eye relief is to short on that scope for a gude gun
You may want to look into getting something like this http://www.leupold.com/hunting-shooting/scopes/fixed-power-riflescopes/fx-ii-scout-ier-2-5x28mm/ or the same thing 700 xcr said (another guide gun scpoe)

I have a VARI-X III 2.5-8x and have a 1.5-5x both are great but I have had to let deer walk because I could not see the crosshairs. My eyes just arnt as good as they were when I was younger.

Send those Leupold's scopes back to Leupold and have the reticles changed in them to a heavy duplex or post duplex. Only cost you around $70.00 plus shipping. That way you can see reticle.

They changed the coating on the newer VX-3 scopes then their older VX-III scopes. They seem to be brighter.

I also think it will work, but like Ruger45 I wouldn't be surprised if the eye relief is less than optimal, especially when you are shooting a kicker.

I don't think the recoil would be an issue. Unless it has to be mounted to far back. Then maybe.

The Leupold VX-3L has a listed eye relief at 3.7" to 4.5".

And I had the 1.5-5x on a No.1 in .375 H&H, and was never an issue.
