There have been a few threads on this lately. I think it is. I saw one here in Dallas for 750. Stainless.... it does seem Like a lot though. But evidently it's fair.
What does someone else here say? It isn't too much you are just buying now instead of the future. (Something like that at least.)
Keep it a long time and the price gets better.
Edit: and you know you want it otherwise you wouldn't be asking. You better go buy it before someone else. Post a picture here when you get it.

Oh well you didn't mention the 1911. Man those guns get expensive fast. The other day I saw one store had two STI pistols. They were 1200 used.
By the way I passed on the stainless willy Clapp I saw for 750 and now of course wished I hadn't.

I just picked one up. The Tag in my box says $709.95 asking price.
I traded my used 7.5 Inch Super RedHawk in 480 Ruger for it, and threw in a bag of New Speer Brass, and a box of 325 grain Hornady bullets. Even Trade.
My guess is about $650 Cash would be a better price.
Don't Get Excited. That was my Spare 480 Ruger Super RedHawk. I still have my 9.5 Inch Barrel one that I got new about 3 years ago.

My first gun was a GP 100 3" I traded it for semi auto worst thing I ever did .
I saw one at a gun show a couple of weeks ago $680. Not sure if that was OTD or add 6% tax so I'd guess pretty close.

You did OK. Your Local Dealer would not impress me charging $75 for the Transfer Fee. Did he make you hold your hands in the air while processing your transaction like Jessy James? My local dealer charges $20 which might be a hair low, but $75 is robbery.
You will like it. It will need a little TLC to be Perfect. If you are planning on a long time relationship with the old girl you might want to down load The Ruger SP101 Trigger Job Guide by Kevin Wilson. I know you have a GP100, but both have the same basic parts design. The SP101 info was better than what I found for the GP100 Trigger Job.
TriggerShims.Com sells both the Shims and the Wolff Spring Kit. I use the .005 Hammer Dog Shims, .005 Hammer Shims, and the .003 Trigger Shims. You will get 3 Hammer Springs in the kit and 2 Trigger Return/Latch Springs to experiment with.
Follow all the instructions and you will be fine. Watch a few You Tube Vidios to get up to speed on how things come apart and go back to gether.

Thanks for the info Bob R , I'll take it to the range as soon as i get it and see how it performs , If it needs a trigger job I shall certainly look into your advice :)
