I have always felt that many of Fast Ed's characters are based on actual people. For example, The Doll looks a lot like our very own Wendy. In fact, I'll wager that messing with Wendy would be just as hazardous to your health as messing with the Doll.

Any opinions on who the other characters are based on?

John

p.s. I cleared this topic with Ed and hope that he will confirm or deny our guesses.

I never question a writer's inspiration. The strip is clever and well done and that is enough. I'm just glad he didn't introduce a shotgun armed character in the indian war segment that looked like Biden, stepped out of the Buckhorn and fired the shotgun in the air to scare them off. Then (of course) stepping back in with his corpus perforated with arrows expressing disbelief it didn't work.

One of the things I enjoy about doing T/D is recalling all the many personalities I have known over a lot of years.
I have found out that everybody has a unique personality whether old or young, good or bad, happy or miserable and they can be interesting and funny in their own way. Just like Ole Reb, he can be hilariously funny without really knowing it. I've noticed a lot of different people on this Forum that have a great sense of humor and I wish they would show it even more. I need to be entertained, also.

Ed, sorry I can't entertain you, but thank you for giving us all a lift and a pleasant way to start the day.

Speaking of Wendy, I Surely wouldn't want to have Selena give me the evil eye in Buckhorn cause my slip was showing or something. T/D IS my favorite daily read on the Forum !! HELL, it's my favorite read ANYWHERE.

The beauty of TD is that most of us, at one time or other, have encountered many of the individuals in the strip...maybe with different names but the same characteristics. I met a few of them in the Branding Iron on Alameda in El Paso Texas, way back in the 60's.

Well, the main characters are likely based upon many different folks, kinda rolled into one, with traits we can all recognize. But, I've seen many references to some of the occasional visitors who may be based upon folks around here!
