This one also flew locally often owned by a potato farm but sold a few years ago.
Those are just awesome. It's too bad they don't make them like that anymore.

Looks like a two barrel carburetor with butterflies bigger than the pistons in a V8 engine.
That is so cool!! I'm sorry, this doesn't compare to the aircraft you are showing, but I live out in the country and I always enjoy watching as they are doing aerial spraying of the crops. We live kind of on a knoll and if you are out watching those cowboys will put a show on for you. This is a picture I snapped right from our front yard, I swear when they go over our house they only clear it by 50 feet.

That biplane is an Eagle DW1, rare bird. I haven't seen one since the '80's.

I love them all the crop dusters fly over every spring some great piloting.
I have a lot of respect to these guys. I often think that at the low altitude and speed they are flying, if they lose power they are going down pretty quick. You hear about that happening every so often.
Nampa ID has a War Bird fly in yearly end of August. Most planes fly once or twice daily. Not sure but I think all planes are from WW2 era. Last years crowd over 2 days was 8,000 people. Easy to get close up to taxiways. Click on the Bearcat, the Navy plane. I filmed the start up from about 20 feet away.

This one was owned for a while by Don Novas here in Blackfoot. I have friends that flew backseat for $50. I’m pretty sure it’s John Bagley’s ‘Mormon Mustang’ now which flies our skies often.
I think you can fly backseat for considerably more than $50.

When I was a kid many years ago I went to the Saturday matinee as usual. There was a western and a WW2 air war documentary about the P51 in European theater. For all practical purposes, it was mostly combat camera footage. I liked it so well that I stuck around to see if it would run again and it did, That made me about two and half hours late getting home. My folks weren't very happy about that. I wish I could learn the name of that film and would go way out of my way to get a copy for my DVD collection. FWIW, I was about 10 or 11 when I saw it which would make it about 77 years ago, give or take a year.
