Up until the late 1990's and even, occasionally, a bit after that, HC produced some extraordinary programs.
Some they produced themselves, and they also paid royalties to run some of the better British historical documentaries.
For years, I recorded many of these shows on high quality VHS tape. Got to where I had 170 tapes, 3 hours each!
As DVD became the dominant thing, I transferred several dozen of the very best episodes onto disc, in order to
provide visuals for the kids that just couldn't be topped.
It is beyond sad to see how far the History Channel has fallen. It's a joke on its former self. - DixieBoy
