Lots of people use shotguns for hog and very successfully at that. Because the woman either missed shots or misplaced them doesn’t mean it’s not quickly lethal when applied in the correct places, just like any other weapons Projectile(s). You have to put in the right place to stop em.

Many Rangers in Yellowstone and in Alaska carry shotguns for protection or to put down grizzly and browns of all sizes. Even a very big hog is no match for a properly directed slug.

Shotguns are used a lot in Alaska because they are more versatile and much cheaper than a decent rifle (IMHO)
